SL at least give you a base. Micheal came across as noone having an idea what the market price is and guessing where to base it. SL at least gave you an offer and you could accept or counter. How is that blind?

Yes, but you can also change the price in your profile. If you do that, the computer chooses you if you are the lowest provider with that zip.

It is blind because you do not know what price the other provider is getting for the job.

Market price? Sears has a distorted view of what market prices are. Since SB went live, ANY price they have to pay us is "above market price".

Streamy,

That is true and just like eBay you need to know the base or at least the current bid. A blind bid will never work and it makes no sense.

<<<<<Third Gen Plumber with only 26 years experience

What I discovered early in career: Blind bidding (especially under deadline pressure) will ALWAYS be an opportunity to bid the job/project incorrectly.

Side note lesson: The more "painful" the lesson is; the quicker you will learn it unless you plead "insanity". Taking it "in the shorts" on ANY job has always came with it's fair share of pain (to me, anyways...lol).

The Cliche'? Insanity is doing something the same way each time but expecting a different result!

Blind Bidding=Total Chaos+Insanity (should one choose to do it more than once)
